The ship is currently in the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Hobart<\/span>-class for Combat System Trials off the American coast.<br \/>\nThe HMAS <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Sydney<\/span> is the third and final ship in the class and was commissioned in May 2020. Its design is based on the F 100 type from the Spanish shipyard Navantia. With a length of 142 metres, the ships displace around 7000 tonnes.
