The crew members took part in a ceremony to bid farewell to their unit, which had been part of the fleet for 36 years. It was only last year that the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Dandong<\/span> set a new record in the Chinese navy when she was at sea for 103 days continuously as part of a patrol.<br \/>\nThe <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Dandong<\/span> belongs to the 053H1 class, a Chinese in-house development. It was commissioned in 1985 and was subordinate to the Southern Theatre Command. At around 103 metres in length, the slender ships displace 1457 tonnes.
