The latest Japanese frigate experienced both together on 22 June <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Noshiro<\/span>. After the type ship and the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Kumano<\/span> she will be the third ship in the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Mogami<\/span>-class. It is named after the Noshiro River in the north of the Japanese main island of Honshu.<br \/>\nThis frigate is being built by MHI in Nagasaki, while other units in the class are being built by Mitsui in Tamano. With a length of 130 metres, the ships displace around 3900 tonnes. They will be equipped with a 127-millimetre gun and a Mk41 VLS launcher with 16 cells.
