While a ship is sinking on the doorstep, the latest units of the Iranian Navy<\/strong> the Cape of Good Hope westwards and move into the Atlantic, where no ship has ever travelled before. Iranian<\/strong> unit has sailed. The cargo ship Makran with military deck cargo (seven small FK combat boats) and presumably an ample arsenal of weapons below deck is accompanied by the frigate Sahand. As the West feared a port of destination in Venezuela, the USA had already labelled this transport an \"act of provocation\" and was monitoring its movements very closely in order to be able to stop the delivery if necessary - corresponding warnings were sent to Caracas and Havana. With a continued northerly course, a passage of the Mediterranean with a \"visit\" to Syria was suspected at the beginning of July, until the two ships were sighted in the Bay of Biscay in mid-July and could only be on their way to the Russian naval parade. This was confirmed shortly afterwards by a press release from the Kremlin. At over 220 metres in length, the Makran is now the largest ship in the Iranian Navy and has been refitted as a naval base for special forces, helicopter and small boat operations, proving that it can be used as a potential disruptive force worldwide. Iran's naval commander Admiral Khanzadi announced his intention to refit and deploy more ships of this type.<\/p>\n
