\"The exhibition aims to bring everyday life on board to life. To this end, we are showing films about life on board, a model of our corvettes and their weapons. Numerous stations invite visitors to join in and try things out for themselves,\" says the main organiser and head of the collection, Lieutenant Captain Yannick Renken (30). \"One of our biggest highlights is a simulation game: Here, guests can steer the arrival and departure of a corvette in the home harbour themselves. Visitors can also take a virtual tour with VR goggles to experience life on board up close,\" the naval officer continues.<\/p>\n
Interested parties will also have the opportunity to listen to interviews with experienced soldiers to find out more about the UNIFIL mission and the associated challenges. Another key topic is the deployment of the 1,800-tonne corvettes as surface warfare units for national and alliance defence. A special experience for outsiders is the original loudspeaker announcements made by the crew on board.<\/p>\n The regional exhibition will be opened by the commander of the corvette squadron, Frigate Captain Florian Feld (46). \"I am proud to be able to open such a great exhibition, even if we unfortunately have to do so on a small scale for the time being due to the current situation.
