The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2024, when the Poseidon will replace the German P-3C Orion fleet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Michael Hostetter, Vice President, Boeing Defense, Space &amp; Security, Germany, was pleased to announce that he was able to expand the presence in by providing the German Navy with this multi-mission capable aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>German industry is an important partner for the P-8A Poseidon programme. Working with local partners, Boeing will provide support, training and maintenance solutions to ensure the highest operational availability to fulfil the German Navy's missions. On 17 June, Boeing signed agreements with ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH and Lufthansa Technik to collaborate on system integration, training, support and maintenance. German companies already supplying components for the P-8A include Aircraft Philipp Group GmbH, Aljo Aluminium-Bau Jonuscheit GmbH and Nord-Micro GmbH.<\/p>\n<p>The P-8A is in service with more than 135 aircraft worldwide and has accumulated a total of over 350,000 flying hours. The P-8A will not significantly improve Germany's capabilities for anti-submarine warfare, anti-submarine warfare (ASW\/ASuW), information gathering, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and search and rescue (S&amp;R) missions, but is the key to maintaining these capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>Germany is the eighth nation after the USA, Australia, India, Great Britain, Norway, Korea and New Zealand to procure the P-8A.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Die US-Navy hat Boeing den Auftrag \u00fcber die Produktion von f\u00fcnf P-8A Poseidon-Flugzeugen f\u00fcr Deutschland erteilt.
