It's hard to believe, but a printer is applying layer after layer of a model ship's propeller - all in XXL format. Where are we? On 30.09.21 at Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH (MMG) in Waren an der M\u00fcritz. 20 guests were able to get an idea of the production of <strong>Ship propellers<\/strong> make. The event was organised by the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany (MCN) under the motto \"On board at ...\".<\/p>\n<p>\"With 'An Bord bei', the Maritime Cluster Northern Germany gives its members the opportunity to exchange ideas and network in a small, exclusive group,\" said Katrin Caldwell, Head of the MCN office in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. \"The participants also had the rare opportunity to take a look behind the scenes and at MMG's largest and smallest propellers.\" The largest propellers have a diameter of up to eleven metres <strong>Propeller<\/strong>that MMG manufactures in its halls, and even the smallest versions are not really small at 2 metres in diameter.<\/p>\n<p>At the beginning, the guests learnt more about the traditional company from MMG Managing Director Dr Lars Greitsch. He reported on the development of MMG over the last 150 years and gave an overview of the current status of the <strong>Propeller foundry<\/strong> including technical facts. Since its foundation, Mecklenburger Metallguss GmbH has been setting standards in foundry technology and the manufacture of propellers. The company is researching a new generation of propulsion systems and design methods.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone <strong>Propeller<\/strong> is unique. Highly developed simulation processes are used in production.
