As a traditional welcome to the crew, the Spanish King Felipe VI spent the last night on board before entering the harbour - at anchor in the Gulf of Cadiz. For ten months, the crew (200) and cadet crew (20) worked and lived exclusively on board the four-masted square-rigged schooner, as no shore leave was allowed due to the strictest precautionary measures against infection with the virus. After the crew members were able to greet their families on the pier, these barrels travelled overland back to Bodega Gonz\u00e1lez Byass in Jerez, where the commander and bodega president tasted the exceptional result before the sherry was allowed to be bottled.
