{"id":14696,"date":"2021-10-19T15:30:28","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T13:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marineforum.online\/?p=14696"},"modified":"2021-10-19T14:53:40","modified_gmt":"2021-10-19T12:53:40","slug":"turkmenistan-first-turkmen-class-corvette-put-into-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marineforum.online\/en\/turkmenistan-erste-korvette-der-turkmen-klasse-in-dienst-gestellt\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkmenistan - first corvette of the TURKMEN class put into service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What began as a rumour at the start of 2019 has now become a reality: Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has commissioned the first TURKMEN-class corvette, named DENIZ HAN, at the naval base on the eastern outskirts of T\u00fcrkmenba\u015fy. Initially known as the C 92, the design from the two Istanbul shipyards Dearsan and G\u00fclhan is a corvette just over 90 metres long and displacing 1600 tonnes with a Turkish G\u00f6kdeniz CIWS from Aselsan and a 76-millimetre gun as its main armament. Now that was a lot of Turkish, but Dearsan is Turkmenistan's favourite naval shipyard and has already built 25 units of various sizes for the country. This type has now been assembled according to the plans and with prefabricated parts from Istanbul at the shipbuilding facility adjacent to the base and specially expanded for this project. The DENIZ HAN is the only corvette ordered and built so far - more could follow.
