In addition to these nations, the USA, Canada, Great Britain, Spain and Turkey are also participating with surface forces and their on-board helicopters (Standing Nato Maritime Group 2 and other units). Some of them also provide the Maritime Patrol Aircraft flying from land. In addition, an MPA with two crews from Germany will be travelling to Sicily to take part.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Latest news<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The serial catalogue of planned exercises is likely to have become a waste of time after 24 February - at least to a large extent. The rationale behind DYMA22 is more likely to be felt and experienced as an emergency than an exercise. We will report on this later - whatever the outcome. The other major exercise, Dynamic Mongoose, usually takes place in the North Atlantic in autumn - and even then the focus of the manoeuvre will be very different!
