Many of the world's leading shipping lines <\/strong>such as K\u00fchne + Nagel or DHL <\/strong>have cancelled their services and bookings to and from Russia. Liner shipping companies such as MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM and Hapag-Lloyd have already cancelled their services to and from Russia as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions imposed on Russia. The world's largest sea freight forwarder K\u00fchne+Nagel is also suspending all import shipments to the Russian Federation \"with immediate effect\", \"with the exception of pharmaceutical, healthcare and humanitarian shipments\". DHL explains that it will not accept any shipments to these countries. For the safety of its employees, DHL has also closed its offices and operations in Ukraine until further notice.

EU<\/strong><\/p>\n

EU countries are considering banning Russian ships from entering EU ports, a move that would further hamper Russian trade supplies.<\/p>\n

Great Britain<\/strong><\/p>\n

A decision was taken there on Monday to deny access to British ports to all ships owned, operated, controlled, chartered or flying the Russian flag.<\/p>\n

USA<\/strong><\/p>\n

Denmark<\/strong><\/p>\n

France<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday, the French finance ministry said it was combing through the financial assets of Russians on sanctions lists related to the Ukraine war, including property, yachts and luxury cars. A French government official told Reuters the EU was working on further sanctions and closing ports to Russian ships was a possibility, but added that any additional steps should hit Russia \"proportionally much harder than our own economies\".<\/p>\n

Spain<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Monday, Spain's transport ministry declared the country's airspace closed to Russian-operated aircraft and said it had proposed similar measures for maritime traffic. Madrid said it was considering denying Russian ships access to Spanish ports, banning them from supplying fuel or other goods, or even denying Russian ships or ships owned by Russian companies access to Spanish waters.<\/p>\n

Hamburg<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jens Meier, head of the Hamburg Port Authority, said at an online press conference on Monday that although there are currently no clear rules for dealing with Russian ships, he expects an announcement soon on \"what is no longer permitted\". HANSA Maritime Journal announced several measures from Hamburg: in order to implement the sanctions imposed by the EU in the Ukraine war, containers coming from or destined for Russia will no longer be handled at HHLA's terminals. Russia was the fourth largest trading partner in container traffic.<\/p>\n

Canada<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Canadian government has taken measures to ban Russian-owned or Russian-registered ships and fishing vessels from Canadian harbours and inland waters. The Canadian ban is expected to come into effect later this week through orders under the Special Economic Measures Act.<\/p>\n

Monaco<\/strong><\/p>\n

The tax haven often favoured by the super-rich will continue to freeze assets and impose sanctions on certain Russians following the invasion of Ukraine, the Monegasque princely palace said on Monday. Prince Albert of Monaco supports all efforts aimed at ending the fighting in Ukraine and encouraging the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukrainian territory, the palace said. The Monegasque princely palace did not specify whose assets were to be frozen. Foreigners, including wealthy Russians, have been attracted to the warm climate and generous tax rules of the tiny Mediterranean principality of Monaco for years. In the summer months, the marina and bay of Monaco are filled with the superyachts of international billionaires, celebrities and oligarchs.<\/p>\n
