IMAF is a service provider for maritime military training projects. To date, it has successfully supported special maritime units and specialised units and intends to expand this further.<\/p>\n<p>The investment in new RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats) has been announced. These are intended to improve the level of training of the IMAF's own instructors in the area of SBTs (Special Boat Teams), but also to ensure their own skills in open water scenarios. \"Bad weather scenarios\" and \"night operations\" are also to be practised regularly.<\/p>\n<p>The experience will also be utilised for armed maritime protection operations in the area of merchant shipping. Once the boats have been acquired, the expansion of exercises in the Eckernf\u00f6rde Bay, the Flensburg Fjord and the North Sea and Baltic Sea in general is planned for the second half of 2022.
