Traditionally, the opening jump is carried out by paratroopers from Parachute Regiment 31 from Seedorf and the naval aviators from Nordholz. The Hanse Sail will be officially opened at 5.35 p.m. on the dot by Manuela Schwesig, Minister President of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

The navy is not only presenting itself with modern systems, but also with tried and tested ones. On Wednesday, the training sailing ship Gorch Fock moored at the passenger quay in Warnemünde. The white lady of the German Navy is on a training voyage through the Baltic Sea and is taking the opportunity to lead the windjammer parade at the Hanse Sail again after an absence of more than six years.

SSS Gorch Fock entering the Hanse Sail 2022 in front of the Warnemünde skyline, photo: Daniel Angres

At the Warnemünde naval base, visitors will be offered a wide range of entertainment and plenty of skills demonstrations.
