It is to be used on the River Spree.<\/h5>\n<p class=\"css-xhfydl e1i3z84t3\">It is a Deutsche Post test, the company announced on its website. The ship will transport hundreds of consignments from Spandau south harbour to Westhafen every day - emission-free and noiseless. The electrically powered ship is 10.50 metres long and 2.50 metres wide. It has an output of 5 kW and can travel at speeds of up to 6.5 knots (approx. 12 km\/h). The photovoltaic system is located on the roof of the ship. When the sun is not shining, the energy is stored in batteries. These supply the ship with power for six to eight hours. \"The ship has a propulsion power of five kilowatts and can therefore reach speeds of up to twelve kilometres per hour,\" writes Deutsche Post.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"css-6j2okx e1127bv80\" data-testid=\"StageLayout.StreamItem\">\n<p>The pilot project could be extended to Neuk\u00f6lln and Mariendorf after a successful test. Talks with the city of Berlin are promising.
