National and alliance defence are once again in focus. As part of the \"Vision 22\" manoeuvre, which lasted several weeks, several naval vessels trained together with the Nordholzer naval aviators in the North Sea for over five days to hunt submarines in formation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The focus of the last training days in the Skagerrak sea area was on the testing and further development of modern sub-hunting procedures in cooperation with the various units at sea and from the air. This allowed the crews to advance their formation training and practise in threat scenarios for national and alliance defence.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

According to confirmed information, there was probably also an incident on board one of the \"P-3C Orion\" maritime patrol aircraft belonging to the Nordholz Naval Air Wing 3: Severe turbulence caused the aircraft to veer off course so violently that several soldiers on board were injured. The aircraft cancelled its flight plan for safety reasons and returned to base, where the injured could be treated and the aircraft examined for possible damage.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Heavy seas at 1000 feet - flying at sea can also be dangerous! We wish the crew members affected by this mission a speedy recovery.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
