{"id":29581,"date":"2023-06-01T09:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T07:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marineforum.online\/?p=29581"},"modified":"2023-06-01T09:03:35","modified_gmt":"2023-06-01T07:03:35","slug":"north-sea-bsh-prepares-two-wind-farms","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marineforum.online\/en\/nordsee-bsh-bereitet-zwei-windparks-vor\/","title":{"rendered":"North Sea: BSH prepares two wind farms"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has commissioned Furgo, the leading geodata specialist from the Netherlands, with the geophysical surveying of two sites for future wind farms within the German Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the North Sea.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES), Fugro will collect the necessary data and develop geological models of the offshore sites. The survey vessel sent by Fugro is now taking images of the sediments up to 15 metres below the seabed in the area of the two offshore wind farms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Fraunhofer IWES will also use seismic multi-channel measurements to penetrate more than 100 metres into the sea floor in order to derive older deposits and valley structures that were formed by glaciers and filled with younger sediments.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The BSH will also use the collected results and processed data to create a model of the seabed that can be used in subsequent geotechnical surveying campaigns. This is intended to reduce the risk for the construction of new wind farms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The sites that have now been surveyed are to be auctioned off in the coming years and play an important role in Germany's energy transition plan, which aims to achieve the target of 30 GW by 2030.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Source: Fugro N.V.
