Among them: Nils Brandt, sea captain and commander of the Gorch Fock for many years. Today, the Hamburg native works at the German Armed Forces Command and Staff College, training general staff officers and prospective staff officers. In an interview with marineforum, Brandt explained to us that he has been a member of the Naval Officers' Association for many years. \"I became a member very recently, while I was still in basic training. So even during my long period of study, I always had an up-to-date connection to the topics in the navy that I couldn't otherwise follow at university.\" Even today, the naval captain still advises younger people to become members and benefit from the dialogue with active and former officers.
