Designations used in the publication have been simplified in order to provide an overview.<\/p>\n<p>The overview charts of the IISS (International Institute for Strategic Studies, London) on the known missile systems in Yemen provide information on the types, but not the quantity. This - and the constant resupply from Iran - makes it impossible to estimate the actual potential of the Houthi militias.<\/p>\n<h3>A roughly calculated total of deployed and destroyed weapons from the chronological outline shows a frightening picture (October to mid-April):<\/h3>\n<p>On <strong>Merchant ships<\/strong> were fired:<\/p>\n<p>8 UCAV, 14 ASHM, 34 ASBM.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Warships<\/strong> were fired:<\/p>\n<p>170+ UCAV, 30 ASHM, 12 ASBM, 3 USV, 1 AUV.<\/p>\n<p>On <strong>Yemeni soil destroyed<\/strong> have been since 15 January 2024:<\/p>\n<p>49 UAVs, 170 ASHMs, 2 ASBMs, 8 USVs, 2 AUVs, 3 SAMs, 1 ground station, 6 armouries.<\/p>\n<p><b>Roughly speaking, the Houthi militias were at least \"consumed\": <\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>230 UCAV, 265 ASHM\/ASBM, 11 USV, 3 AUV, 3 SAM.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3>Summary<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Over 270 weapons<\/strong> have been killed by the Huthi militias by sea <strong>against merchant ships and warships<\/strong> have been used.<\/p>\n<p>One about <strong>the same number of weapons<\/strong>\u00a0could <strong>before their use<\/strong> by US forces (US Air Force) <strong>destroyed on Yemeni soil<\/strong> become.<\/p>\n<p><strong>32 merchant ships have been directly attacked and damaged<\/strong> - One was sunk. Until <strong>Mid April<\/strong> costs in the amount of <strong>one billion dollars<\/strong> which must be invested for replacement. \u00a0<b>Defence against attacks at sea is an extremely dangerous and costly attrition scenario. Apart from a negotiated solution for the entire Middle East region, the protection of merchant ships by warships can probably only be achieved in the long term through a parallel and decisive fight against offensive weapons on land.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3>MILITARY TIMES (edited translation)<\/h3>\n<p>Since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in October, Iran-backed Houthi fighters have sent a relentless barrage of missiles and attack drones at merchant ships and naval vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.<\/p>\n<p>The Navy is now arguably engaged in a proxy war with the Houthis stationed in Yemen, and the men and women aboard American destroyers in the region are facing a <strong>The naval forces have been confronted with a level of maritime hostility not seen since the Second World War.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Below is a running list of all instances in which a Navy ship or aircraft has repelled a Houthi attack since October, and all instances in which the United States and its allies have attacked Houthi sites in Yemen.<\/p>\n<p>The list is based on incidents publicly confirmed and publicised by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM, Bahrain) and reports by Military Times and The Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p>According to CENTCOM, US destroyers of the Arleigh Burke class were directly involved in or directly attacked in at least the following number of incidents:<\/p>\n<p>USS Thomas Hudner: 2<\/p>\n<p>USS Gravely: 5<\/p>\n<p>USS Mason: 9<\/p>\n<p>USS Laboon: 11<\/p>\n<p>USS Carney: 12<\/p>\n<h3>Chronological listing, summarised by month:<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>APRIL 2024 - until 17\/04\/2024<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>against US\/coalition forces: <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #ff3333;\">\u00a07 UCAV, 1 ASHM, 3 ASBM,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>against civilian ships: \u00a0<span style=\"color: #007826;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">2 ASBM, (2<b>\u00a0HS<\/b>)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>destroyed in Yemen: <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #0066ff;\">2 UCAV, 1 ASHM, 2 SAM, 1 ground station,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>16 April 2024:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">US forces attack in Yemen <span style=\"color: #0066cc;\">two UCAVs<\/span> to.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>13-14 April 2024:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Iran launches its first direct attack on Israel. US forces and allies destroyed around <span style=\"color: #ff3333;\">80 UCAV<\/span> and at least <span style=\"color: #ff3333;\">six ballistic missiles<\/span>to attack Israel from Iran and Yemen. These included <span style=\"color: #ff3333;\">a ballistic missile on its launch vehicle<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff3333;\">Seven UCAVs on the ground<\/span> in the Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen. The 494th and 335th Fighter Squadrons with F-15E Strike Eagles were deployed to defend against the UCAV attack. The destroyers Carney and Arleigh Burke had launched several ballistic missiles during the attack. US troops from a Patriot missile defence system in Irbil, Iraq, shot down another weapon (presumably a ballistic missile). The merchant ship was escorted by the Mason and the naval destroyer Laboon. According to CENTCOM, a <span style=\"color: #009933;\">fifth ASBM<\/span> were fired at the ship and it suffered only minimal damage. CENTCOM said the fertiliser the ship was carrying posed \"an environmental risk\" in the Red Sea and that the sunken vessel posed an \"acute obstacle to navigation\" for other ships using the waterway's shipping lanes.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian Ministry of Defence said that its destroyer Caio Duilio had <span style=\"color: #ff3333;\">a suspected UCAV<\/span> in the Red Sea, which flew towards him.<\/p>\n<p><b>1 March 2024<\/b>:<\/p>\n<p>US forces fired on <span style=\"color: #0066ff;\">a Houthi surface-to-air missile<\/span>which was prepared to take off from Yemen in the direction of the Red Sea.
