One project will maintain the operational availability of the Brandenburg class.<\/p>\n<p>Since their commissioning between 1994 and 1996, the four Class 123 frigates have primarily been used for submarine hunting. According to the Bundeswehr, the radar equipment and the command and weapon deployment system are to be replaced. In addition, the communication and sensor systems as well as the submarine hunting capability will be adapted or expanded and the missiles will be renewed.
