While the German Indo-Pacific unit consisting of the frigate \"Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg\" and the task force provider \"Frankfurt am Main\" are visiting Tokyo, a Japanese training unit consisting of the training ship \"Kashima\" (143 metres, 5,500 tonnes, commissioned in 1995) and the guided missile destroyer \"Shimakaze\" (130 metres, 4,300 tonnes, commissioned in 1988) moored at the \u00dcberseebr\u00fccke in the port of Hamburg on Thursday. There are around 600 crew members on board, including around 190 cadets.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As the inspector of the German Navy, Vice Admiral Jan Kaack, had already emphasised at the farewell ceremony of our own unit for Operation Indo-Pacific Deployment, the oceans of the world must not be considered separately: \"These oceans belong together!\"<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The association left the Japanese naval base in Kobe on 9 May, has just visited Valencia in Spain and is now stopping in Hamburg on its way through. It is the first time in eight years that a Japanese association has visited Germany and the first time in 19 years that Hamburg has been called at. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Two events are planned during the stay until 2 September, including an \"Open Ship\", where visitors will have the opportunity to view the ships on 31 August and 1 September from 10 am to 3 pm.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The Marine Music Corps will also be playing on 31 August from 3 to 5 pm.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, on 30 and 31 August, the boats are illuminated from sunset onwards and enrich the cityscape.ilhouette<\/span>\u00a0in a special way.<\/span><\/p>\n
