Ceremonial swearing-in of the 2024 crew at the M\u00fcrwik Naval Academy<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 26 September 2024, the cadets of Crew 2024 were sworn in as part of a ceremonial muster. The invited family members of the officer cadets were able to experience the naval school in the evening light of torches and to the musical accompaniment of the Kiel Naval Music Corps. In addition to former Vice Admiral Heinrich Lange, who was invited as guest of honour, and Rear Admiral Christoph M\u00fcller-Meinhard, Commander Support of the Rostock Naval Command, visitors from politics, society and the Bundeswehr were also present.<\/p>\n

The M\u00fcrwik Naval School on the Flensburg Fjord (MSM) is the \"alma mater\" of officers and officer cadets of the German Navy. Officers of the German naval forces have been trained here since 1910. Although the \"Red Castle by the Sea\", one of Flensburg's landmarks, is an old building, it offers modern training in a traditional maritime environment. The school's teaching areas are superior training, nautical science and seamanship as well as law. The MSM is also in charge of the sailing training ship \"Gorch Fock\".<\/p>\n
