The event is a further step in the cooperation between thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and the Israeli Defence Forces. Oliver Burkhard, CEO of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, said: \"We have a long-standing partnership with Israel based on trust and mutual respect. The christening of the 'INS DRAKON' and the start of production of the first 'DAKAR' class submarine are important milestones that underline our commitment to delivering submarines that set new technical standards worldwide.\"  The christening of the 'INS DRAKON' represents an important milestone in the production of state-of-the-art AIP submarines.
