{"id":43193,"date":"2025-02-26T15:10:10","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T14:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marineforum.online\/?p=43193"},"modified":"2025-09-29T20:55:00","modified_gmt":"2025-09-29T18:55:00","slug":"munich-security-conference-industrial-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marineforum.online\/en\/muenchener-sicherheitskonferenz-industriepolitik\/","title":{"rendered":"After the Munich Security Conference: Associations call for a consistent industrial policy on defence equipment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On 20 February 2025, the Federal Association of the German Security and Defence Industry (BDSV) and the Federal Association of the German Aerospace Industry (BDLI) called for consistent investment in the production of goods in our security and defence industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Munich Security Conference<\/strong> has impressively demonstrated that Europe must take more responsibility for its own security in the transatlantic burden-sharing process. This requires higher defence budgets as well as the political will for self-assertion and sovereignty. Above all, an industrial policy agenda in the area of defence policy must be launched that focuses on orders for domestic companies: Buy European.<\/p>\n<p>The presidents of the leading industry associations, Armin Papperger (BDSV) and Dr Michael Sch\u00f6llhorn (BDLI), are calling for a stronger focus on domestic companies. The letter states. <em>\"The German security and defence industry can immediately implement increasing government investments and orders and provide Germany's security agencies with the urgently needed equipment - with all the advantages of domestic value creation. Purchasing complete systems from foreign, non-European suppliers is therefore not advisable, as it makes Germany strategically dependent.\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The letter is addressed to the Federal Chancellor, the Federal Ministers for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection and for Defence and to the chairmen of the CDU\/CSU, SPD, B90\/The Greens and FDP parties and parliamentary groups.<\/p>\n<p>The Bundesverband der Deutschen Sicherheits- und Verteidigungsindustrie e.V. - BDSV e.V. represents the interests of over 260 companies at national and international level vis-\u00e0-vis decision-makers in politics and administration as well as the public. The Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V.
