The Bundeswehr's events on 28 June were very well received not only in Stralsund, but throughout the country. Hardly anyone was able to switch on the TV, check social media or listen to the radio that weekend without coming across reports about the events.<\/p>\n

Bundeswehr shows presence in Stralsund - 22,500 guests experience impressive programme on the harbour island<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bright sunshine, maritime flair and a varied programme made the Bundeswehr Day 2025 on Stralsund's harbour island a special experience. With around 22,500 visitors<\/strong> the 2019 figure was clearly exceeded. The site presented itself as a modern, open and efficient part of the Bundeswehr family.<\/p>\n

All branches of the armed forces and civilian partners from the federal and state governments took part in the major event. The day was opened by the Lord Mayor of the Hanseatic city of Stralsund, Dr Andreas Bardrow<\/strong>and the commander of the naval technical school, Captain at sea Matthias Brabant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the start, the air force provided a spectacular highlight: Three A400M transport aircraft<\/strong> from Wunstorf flew in formation over the site - precise and impressive. A little later, two Eurofighter from the Rostock-Laage alert patrol<\/strong> with a piercing sound - a few minutes before the planned \"time over target\".<\/p>\n

The Bundeswehr also demonstrated its operational readiness on the water: the Corvette \"Magdeburg\"<\/strong> performed an impressive harbour fire extinguishing roll and offered Open Ship<\/strong> exciting insights. This was later followed by a Sea rescue exercise<\/strong>including with the on-board helicopter Sea Lynx<\/strong> of the Naval Air Wing 5 from Nordholz. Together with the Boarding company of the sea battalion<\/strong> from Eckernf\u00f6rde was also used to develop a realistic Boarding action<\/strong> demonstrated on the harbour tug \"Vogelsand\".<\/p>\n

The German Army<\/strong> presented itself with a vivid demonstration of the repair of a Boxer combat vehicle. Army repair logistics explained technical processes and was available to answer questions.<\/p>\n

The programme was complemented by the \"Blue light family\"<\/strong>Federal police, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state police and other authorities were represented with their own stands.<\/p>\n

A particular highlight was the visit to the Inspector General of the Bundeswehr<\/strong>who, as part of the ceremonial pledge, addressed the 54 recruits<\/strong> on the old market square in Stralsund.<\/p>\n

The sporting finale was the \"Boxing in the harbour\" format<\/strong>Boxers from the German Armed Forces competed against a selection from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in a specially constructed ring. In front of an enthusiastic audience, the athletes showed fairness, discipline and impressive performances.<\/p>\n

Conclusion:<\/strong>
With a varied programme and numerous personal encounters, the Day of the Bundeswehr 2025 in Stralsund<\/strong> an open, lively and impressive insight into the mission, everyday life and performance of the Bundeswehr.<\/p>\n
