The units of Flotilla 1 represented the German Navy for a week at the Kiel Week and the Day of the German Armed Forces in Stralsund\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

On behalf of all servicemen and women, reservists, volunteers, helpers and relatives, we would like to thank the crews of the corvette \"Magdeburg\" and the tender \"Elbe\" for their commitment to Kiel Week and Armed Forces Day. Also the Naval Air Wing 5, the naval battalion and many more!<\/p>\n

Rides with visitors are exhausting, but also a highlight: finally being able to show what you can do. Nice encounters, relaxed visitors and great weather. As a crew, you also get very close to the \"tops\" of the navy and this time there was even a marriage proposal on the \"Magdeburg\" at the end of a trip. What more could you want! At the end of the week, the \"Magdeburg\" and the \"Elbe\" moved swiftly to Stralsund for the German Armed Forces Day, where they also demonstrated their skills on behalf of the entire German Navy.<\/p>\n

By the way: the Magdeburg is currently one of two corvettes registered as fully operational for NATO. One special feature stood out: When entering and leaving the harbour, the aft weapon stations were \"armed\".<\/p>\n
