USS \"Alexandria\" visits South Korea - North Korea reacts with harsh criticism<\/h3>\n

The USS \"Alexandria\" (SSN-757)<\/strong>a fast, nuclear-powered attack submarine of the Los Angeles class<\/strong>has in Busan <\/strong>(about 200 miles southeast of Seoul, opposite Japan), according to a spokesman for the U.S. Naval Forces Korea<\/strong> announced. No further details were published. The ship, which entered service in 1991 \"Alexandria\"<\/strong> (6,900 tonnes) is conventional weapons<\/strong> equipped.<\/p>\n

North Korea's reaction: harsh criticism of the USA<\/h3>\n

North Korea's state media reacted immediately and described the arrival of the US submarine as a \"undeniable threat\"<\/strong>. They threw the USA<\/strong> of further fuelling tensions on the Korean peninsula and once again warn against \"Countermeasures\"<\/strong>. It was also said that Washington openly ignored the North Korea's security concerns<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The last US submarine to be built in Busan<\/strong> arrived, the USS \"Vermont\" (SSN-792)<\/strong>a Virginia class<\/strong>-submarine, which was Pearl Harbor, Hawaii<\/strong> is stationed in South Korea. Strategic deterrence against North Korea<\/h3>\n
