She has now been moved to her new home port <strong data-start=\"384\" data-end=\"406\">Devonport\/Plymouth<\/strong> where the other six remaining Type 23 frigates are already located. The ships, which are now 40 years old and very costly to maintain, are now concentrated at one location for better coordination of maintenance measures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"664\" data-end=\"957\">The original plan from 2017 envisaged that all <strong data-start=\"719\" data-end=\"755\">Sub-hunting frigates with Towed Array<\/strong> to Plymouth, while those without towed sonar were to remain in Portsmouth. However, some frigates were decommissioned faster than they could change home port.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"959\" data-end=\"1295\">Three of the seven remaining frigates are currently undergoing <strong data-start=\"1029\" data-end=\"1066\">four-year repair phase<\/strong>in which they are <strong data-start=\"1087\" data-end=\"1117\">Naval Strike Missile (NSM)<\/strong> be retrofitted. An eighth frigate, the <strong data-start=\"1164\" data-end=\"1179\">\"Lancaster\"<\/strong>is still <strong data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1217\">\"forward deployed\"<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1221\" data-end=\"1232\">Bahrain<\/strong> - presumably until they are decommissioned at the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1297\" data-end=\"1667\">In addition to the Type-23s, there are also the six <strong data-start=\"1339\" data-end=\"1378\">Type 45 destroyer of the Daring class<\/strong>who are also struggling with an unconvincing clarity. In Plymouth, the eight <strong data-start=\"1486\" data-end=\"1513\">new Type 26 frigates<\/strong> (150 metres, 7,000 tonnes) is eagerly awaited - whose shipyard repair is ironically being carried out over 100 nautical miles away. <strong data-start=\"1637\" data-end=\"1651\">Portsmouth<\/strong> is planned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1669\" data-end=\"1868\">The stationing plans for the five somewhat smaller <strong data-start=\"1735\" data-end=\"1766\">Type 31 multipurpose frigates<\/strong> (140 metres, 6,900 tonnes). According to the current status, they are to be completely <strong data-start=\"1838\" data-end=\"1860\">\"forward deployed\"<\/strong> become.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1870\" data-end=\"2170\">This largely names the portfolio of larger units - apart from the seven <strong data-start=\"1961\" data-end=\"2000\">Attack submarines of the Astute class<\/strong>.
