On board the Brazilian training ship are a total of 486 soldiers, including around 200 cadets, who will learn maritime skills during their training, gain valuable border experience and also get to know the world. The NE BRASIL comes from Gothenburg in Sweden and will leave Hamburg for London\/UK on Saturday, 11 October 2025 at 16:00.<br \/>\nAs part of the Host Nation Support, the Hamburg State Command coordinates, plans and organises the visit of the naval vessel. The crew is given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the country and people of Hamburg and the surrounding area during various shore leave and excursions.<br \/>\nThe NE BRASIL was built in Brazil and commissioned in 1986. It is around 130 metres long and displaces around 3,400 tonnes. Among other things, it has sensors for above-water situational awareness and a landing platform for helicopters. The NE Brasil's last visit to Hamburg took place in October 2024.<br \/>\nThe <strong>Open Ship will take place on Friday, 10.10.2025 at the \u00dcberseebr\u00fccke from 14:00 to 17:00.<\/strong> The latest admission time is 16:30. Visitors are requested not to bring large rucksacks and bags on board for safety reasons.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background information<\/strong><br \/>\nA Bundeswehr state command is set up in each of the 16 federal states and acts as the first point of contact for the state government, districts, independent cities and civilian authorities and blue-light organisations in all matters relating to civil-military cooperation.
