Four of the boats are being delivered directly from Wuhan, while another four are under construction in Pakistan at Karachi Shipyards & Engineering Works using supplies from China. This also includes the Stirling engine for the air-independent propulsion system. Following the launch of the type boat \"Hangor\" a year ago and the second boat \"Shushuk\" six months ago, the third Pakistani boat was christened \"Mangro\" and launched in mid-August. The Hangor class is said to be capable of firing both heavy torpedoes and anti-ship cruise missiles from its torpedo tubes. However, it is also expected that Pakistan's submarine-compatible nuclear weapon Babur-3 (SLBM - Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile) with a range of around 450 kilometres will be deployable in this way.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
