Photo: Bw\/C.Kassette<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The ship under the command of Frigate Captain Alexander Timpf was part of the NATO Standing NATO Maritime Group 1 (SNMG1). The commander emphasises the high flexibility, professionalism and strong cohesion of the crew, which made a visible contribution to Germany's reliability in NATO. During its deployment, the \"Hamburg\" crossed the Arctic Circle several times and proved its seaworthiness under difficult conditions. During the \"Neptune Strike\" manoeuvre in particular, the frigate was able to demonstrate its capabilities and contribute to security in European waters. In October, at the request of Denmark, it supported air surveillance and security for the EU summit in Copenhagen.<\/p>\n<p>The cooperation with NATO partners, in particular with the US aircraft carrier \"USS Gerald R. Ford\", enabled the crew to gain valuable experience in the interaction of different military capabilities. The commander emphasises the importance of the mission for the security of the sea lanes and stability in Europe. The frigate was part of the permanent<br \/>\nNATO task force, the Standing NATO Maritime Group 1.<\/p>\n<p>\"Behind us lie challenging and intensive months in the Permanent Maritime Council.<br \/>\nNATO task force. This co-operation enabled the crew to gain valuable experience in the<br \/>\nIntegration of different military capabilities and optimisation of<br \/>\njoint operations.<\/p>\n<p>The current experiences and deployments of the frigate \"Hamburg\" emphasise the<br \/>\nimportant role of the German Navy within NATO and its commitment to<br \/>\nsafety and stability in European waters. \"Our mission is the<br \/>\nThe result of hard work, hardened cohesion and personal hardship<br \/>\nin challenging times.
