The submarine support ship of the Royal Netherlands Navy will moor at the \u00dcberseebr\u00fccke at around 13:30 and will remain a guest in the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg until Monday, 23 February.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The HNMLS MERCUUR was commissioned in 1987 and is 64.8 metres long and 12 metres wide with a draught of 6.4 metres. The crew comprises up to 35 servicemen and women.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">The crew of the HNMLS MERCUUR will be open to all interested parties on Saturday, 21 February from 10:00 to 14:00 for an open ship and to answer questions from the public. Last admission is at 13:30. For safety reasons, large bags are not permitted on board the ship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">We wish the crew a pleasant stay in Hamburg.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"p1\"><strong>Background<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">The Bundeswehr state commands are the first point of contact for the state government, districts, independent cities and civilian authorities in all matters relating to civil-military cooperation. They are responsible for the territorial contribution to national and alliance defence. There is a Bundeswehr state command in every federal state in Germany.
