The book that was pressed into your hand when you asked the inexperienced question about the foreign warship you had just spotted: "here, find out for yourself". This was followed by years in which Weyer's was my constant companion. The layout was intuitive and clear, both for experts and laymen. A maximum of information on all the world's navies in a minimum of space. The in-depth assessment of the fleets by Klaus Mommsen is also first class and unrivalled. Up-to-date fleet lists and always surprising insights. Names, new names, tonnage, armament, electronics, performance, capabilities and everything the curious navigator wants to know. It can be used for more than just identifying floating and flying units, but is also suitable for training or a little quiz on board. The 69th edition since its publication in 1900 does not surprise us with a new format or different layout; the most significant format change in recent years is the addition of colour photos. Trust has also remained the same, because despite AIS, Wikipedia and online databases, there is no substitute for a routine trip to the shelf.

Werner Globke (ed.)

Weyers fleet pocket book 2020/2022

Warships of the World Fleet Handbook

2020.LVIII, 1087 pages and 4 pages of flag plates, approx. 1000 colour photos

Approx. 1700 ship sketches, bilingual German/English.

EUR (D) 72,- / EUR (A) 74,-

ISBN 978-3-7637-4520-3

Bernhard & Graefe in the Mönch Verlagsgesellschaft mbH

Es ist das Buch, was viele von uns schon auf der ersten Seewache im Navschapp vorfanden.
