It will soon join the EU Operation Irini and monitor compliance with the arms embargo off the coast of Libya. Until then, Commander Stefan Klatt and his crew have used the time to bring their skills up to date. Today, 13 March, the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Berlin<\/span> a RAS manoeuvre with the frigates <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Victoria <\/span>and <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Numancia<\/span>. Fuel was handed over to the Spanish ships.<br \/>\nBoth frigates belong to the <span style=\"font-variant: small-caps;\">Santa Maria<\/span>-class and were put into service at the end of the 1980s. With a length of 139 metres, they displace around 3600 tonnes.
