Dänische Aufsichtsbehörden haben, wohl nach Intervention des US Departments of Justice, den Verkauf von Maersk Container Industries (MCI) an China International Marine Containers (CIMC) untersagt. Maersk Container Industries hatte sich seit Jahren voll auf den Bau von Kühlcontainern (Reefer) konzentriert. Es wurde befürchtet, dass sich mit dem Verkauf von MCI zu viel Marktmacht in China konzentriert, die von der chinesischen Führung möglicherweise irgendwann ausgenutzt werden könnte. Ohnehin kommen rund 90 Prozent der weltweit produzierten Container aus China. CIMC allein hat einen Marktanteil von 42 Prozent.
