Zvezda shipyard - launch of LNG tanker series

The keel of the first large LNG tanker of a 15-ship series for the Russian state shipping company Sovkomflot has been laid at the Zvezda shipyard in Bolshoi Kamen in the Far East, after the first steel cut was made in November 2020. It is "the first ship of this size, loading and icebreaking capacity" to be built at a Russian shipyard, according to the keel-laying ceremony. The newbuildings are intended for transporting natural gas from the Arctic LNG 2 project on the Gydan Peninsula.

In the case of F 125, they also see a gap between the delivery of a product and...

German shipyards have established themselves in lucrative niche markets with innovations and expertise. A visit to Abeking & Rasmussen in Lemwerder. There, where the names are emblazoned that you can read cast in brass on thousands of ships on all the world's oceans. It is a curiosity that is not just an interest in technology. It also triggers emotions, awakens memories and fuels the proverbial (Saint-Exupéry) longing for the sea. Or, as one shipbuilder told me...

Focus on the Mediterranean

Even in turbulent times, Spain relies on a strong military alliance to meet maritime challenges. An interview with the inspector of the Spanish Navy, Admiral Antonio Martorell Lacave. Mr Admiral, first of all, congratulations on your new position! It is a great honour for us to interview you. The German Navy also has a new chief, when will you see Admiral Schönbach? We have both just taken office and we have countless commitments ahead of us. However, I hope to have the opportunity to meet him soon, as Germany is an important ally in NATO and the EU. Our...
