Future Canadian frigates to receive Sea Ceptor

The future Canadian Surface Combatants (CSC) will be equipped with the Sea Ceptor air defence system from MBDA. Its missiles are based on the Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM). They are quickly deployable and can be used at a high cadence so that several threats can be combated simultaneously. One of the Sea Ceptor's special features is the so-called Soft Vertical Launch. First Spanish S-80 christened

In the presence of Spain's King Felipe VI and his wife, the country's newest submarine was christened at the Navantia shipyard in Cartagena on 22 April. SNMCMG 2 exercises off the Italian coast

Russische Schiffe passieren Gibraltar

Am 19. April haben vier russische Schiffe auf westlichem Kurs die Straße von Gibraltar durchquert. Die zur Baltischen Flotte gehörenden Einheiten befinden sich auf dem Weg zurück in den Heimathafen Baltijsk (Pillau), wo sie Ende April erwartet werden. Neben der Korvette Stojkij, dem Tanker Kola und dem Hochseeschlepper Yakov Grebesky umfasst die kleine Gruppe auch die Arbeitsplattform PM-82. Die Schiffe waren für rund vier Monate unterwegs. Launching of the fifth boat in the Astute class

The Royal Navy's latest submarine was launched for the first time on 20 April at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness.
