The future Canadian Surface Combatants (CSC) will be equipped with the Sea Ceptor air defence system from MBDA. Its missiles are based on the Common Anti-Air Modular Missile (CAMM). They are quickly deployable and can be used at a high cadence so that several threats can be combated simultaneously. One of the Sea Ceptor's special features is the so-called Soft Vertical Launch. Am 19. April haben vier russische Schiffe auf westlichem Kurs die Straße von Gibraltar durchquert. Die zur Baltischen Flotte gehörenden Einheiten befinden sich auf dem Weg zurück in den Heimathafen Baltijsk (Pillau), wo sie Ende April erwartet werden. Neben der Korvette Stojkij, dem Tanker Kola und dem Hochseeschlepper Yakov Grebesky umfasst die kleine Gruppe auch die Arbeitsplattform PM-82. Die Schiffe waren für rund vier Monate unterwegs. The Royal Navy's latest submarine was launched for the first time on 20 April at BAE Systems in Barrow-in-Furness. Prior to this, the 7400-tonne unit, whose keel laying was celebrated in October 2011, was pulled out of the assembly hall.
