"Novosibirsk" will be handed over to the Russian fleet in 2021
According to Russian sources, the first production nuclear submarine of Project 885 M (Yasen-M), named Novosibirsk, is to be handed over to the Russian naval fleet at the end of 2021. By then, the Novosibirsk should have completed shipyard trials and undergone naval trials. During these trials, launches of the Oniks and Kalibr-PL missiles are planned. The shipyard is also reportedly planning to hand over the Project 885 M type submarine, the Kazan, this year. There are six more submarines of this project under construction. The seventh and eighth hulls of Project 885M, the Voronezh and Vladivostok nuclear submarines, were launched on 20 July 2020.
