Suez-Passage wird teurer

Schifffahrten durch den Suez-Kanal sollen teurer werden. Wie die Betreiber bekannt gaben, soll der Preis für die Durchfahrten ab Februar 2022 ansteigen. Drugs seized in the Caribbean

Warship has coastguard team on board for police duties. Conceivable in Germany too? According to the Navy Times, the USS Sioux City seized more than 20 million dollars worth of cocaine last month. The Coast Guard team on board was able to seize around 1,110 pounds of the drug from a smuggling speedboat in the Caribbean on 19 September. The Sioux City and a Dominican Republic vessel spotted a "very fast boat" that day, whereupon the LCS (Littoral Combat Ship) Sioux City deployed a speedboat and chased after the smugglers. Protecting the Baltic Sea

The countries bordering the Baltic Sea have agreed to step up measures to improve the devastating state of one of the world's most polluted marine areas. The aim of the Baltic Sea Action Plan (BSAP) and the European Commission is to protect 30% of the Baltic Sea by 2030. The new measures were adopted at a ministerial meeting in Lübeck on Wednesday under the auspices of the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM), the Commission for the Protection of the Marine Environment of the Baltic Sea.
