Zwei Wochen lang waren die Minensucher in der östlichen Ostsee tätig, gestern wurde die Übung Open Spirit 2021 beendet. Mit großem Erfolg, denn mehr als 120 Minen und andere Munitionsreste wurden aufgespürt und unschädlich gemacht. Insgesamt nahmen 21 Boote aus elf Nationen teil, um Altlasten aus dem Ersten und Zweiten Weltkrieg zu beseitigen. Mit dabei waren auch die Boote der Standing NATO Mine Countermeasures Group 1 (SNMCMG 1). Unter dem Kommando des niederländischen Fregattenkapitäns Jan Wijchers auf der belgischen Godetia standen die belgische Crocus, die estnische Ugandi, die niederländische Zierikzee, die britische Pembroke und die Sulzbach-Rosenberg der Deutschen Marine....

According to reports from pro-Iranian media and an Israeli television station on Tuesday, 13 April, a merchant ship was attacked off the coast of the United Arab Emirates. It is said to be the Hyperion Ray, a vehicle transporter built in 2015, 200 metres long and 36 metres wide, which sails for the Ray Car Carrier shipping company. The ship was en route from Mina Al Ahmadi in Kuwait to the United Arab Emirates. Hapag-Lloyd, Germany's largest shipping company and number five in the global ranking of liner shipping companies, has received a strong tailwind from the coronavirus pandemic and was able to present a significantly improved result compared to the previous year. According to preliminary figures, earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose to around 1.3 billion euros. This includes one-off expenses totalling around 120 million euros. The increase in freight rates by an average of almost USD 50 per TEU compared to 2019 due to high demand and lower bunker prices played an important role in the good result. However, cost savings of around 500 million euros also had an impact.

Frachter ist sicher an der Pier -  grossartige Leistung von Küstenwache und Schlepperbesatzungen Das ohne Besatzung im Nordmeer treibende Frachtschiff "Eemslift Hendrika" ist gesichert worden. Mehrere Tage trieb das Schiff ohne Besatzung und Antrieb im Meer. Die Sorge, dass sich der Kraftstoff des Schiffes, nämlich Schweröl und Diesel ins Meer ergiessen, ist somit gebannt. Über die Beladung ist - außer der an Oberdeck sichtbaren Boote - weiter nichts bekannt. Auch über das offenbar über Bord gegangene Betriebsboot verlautete bisher nichts.
