Greece sells its old tonnage
The Greeks are apparently getting out of the Russian oil transport business. The largest ship-owning nation in the world, measured by the carrying capacity of its ships, is obviously profiting more from the lucrative sale of its outdated ships, thereby enabling Moscow to circumvent sanctions at the same time. Greek shipowners are selling their depreciated tankers - mostly 15 to 20 years old - at a profit to mysterious buyers with connections to Russia. A dubious business model: keyword "shadow fleet", but not illegal; and certainly enterprising.
