Cleanly measured - BSH measures the proportion of sulphur in ship emissions
The BSH has been measuring the proportion of sulphur in ship emissions since 2014. At the end of 2020, the measuring network consisted of three fixed and one mobile station as well as the new measuring station on the Atair. The maximum permissible limit for the proportion of sulphur in marine fuels has been 0.5 percent worldwide since 1 January 2020. The limit value of 0.1 per cent has already applied to the North Sea and Baltic Sea as a Sulphur Emission Control Area (SECA) since 1 January 2015.
