Change at the CMSS in Kiel

The Center for Maritime Strategy & Security (CMSS) has been under new management since yesterday (21 June). From now on, Johannes Peters will be in charge of the academic institution. Peters will also be responsible for the organisation of the Kiel Seapower Series with immediate effect. The CMSS is an institution of the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK) and, under the leadership of Dr Sebastian Bruns, has repeatedly attracted attention with high-calibre events. Welcome to your new home, Stalwart!

After travelling halfway around the globe, the new supply vessel NUSHIP Stalwart has arrived in its new home in Australia for the first time. At the end of May, the Stalwart left Ferrol in Spain, where it had been built at the Navantia shipyard. The future Royal Australian Navy ship will be stationed on the country's west coast in Perth. Russian navy practises attacking an aircraft carrier

According to the Ministry of Defence in Moscow, a large-scale exercise has shown that the Russian armed forces can also operate successfully in the vastness of the Pacific, far away from home. After four decades, Admiral Charlie Ray has vacated his position as Deputy Commandant of the US Coast Guard and retired. He has been succeeded by Linda Lee Fagan, the first woman to hold this post. The fight against drug smuggling: a worthwhile mission in the Caribbean
