Albania offers NATO a former Soviet naval base

Albania has offered NATO a naval base to underline the small country's value to the alliance "in these difficult times", the office of Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama said on 26 May 2022. Prime Minister Edi Rama said the Pashaliman naval base, located 180 kilometres south of the capital Tirana, could represent "added value" for the alliance. Albania, which joined NATO in 2009, has joined the United States and the European Union in condemning Russia's war in Ukraine. Hapag-Lloyd introduces real-time monitoring for its entire fleet of 3 million TEU containers

German container shipping company Hapag-Lloyd has announced that it will equip its entire container fleet with real-time tracking devices in order to pioneer the use of this technology. Hapag-Lloyd first introduced real-time monitoring of its reefer container fleet of around 100,000 units in 2019. Due to the success of the "Hapag-Lloyd LIVE" programme, the company has decided to equip its entire fleet of standard containers with a capacity of around 3 million TEU with tracking devices. Navigation systems for K 130

OSI awarded contract to equip the German Navy's K-130 corvettes with integrated navigation systems OSI Maritime Systems (OSI) has announced that it has been selected by ARCHE Systeme GmbH (ARCHE) to supply an integrated navigation system (INS) for the German Navy's K-130 Batch I corvette programme, operated by ECPINS. The contract includes the INS for the corvettes and the shore-based test and training facilities (shore facilities). ECPINS is at the heart of OSI's IMO type approved Integrated Navigation System MSC 252(83) and, like the F-126 programme, will be fully compliant with NATO WECDIS STANAG 4564 Edition 3.
