Naval ECDIS NX has successfully passed the IMO type approval by DNV
Raytheon Anschütz, a Raytheon Technologies company, has successfully completed type approval for the new Naval ECDIS NX and is now ready for delivery to new build and modernisation projects. The approval also included the new Bridge Alert Management Standard in accordance with IMO Resolution IMO.302(87) and the corresponding IEC standards.
Naval ECDIS NX is a modern WECDIS ("Warship Electronic Chart Display and Information System") specially designed for coast guards and patrol boats, surface vessels and submarines. Naval ECDIS NX is based on a proven, IMO-compliant commercial ECDIS and can be expanded modularly and efficiently with additional military functions. In this way, Naval ECDIS NX offers not only safe and precise navigation but also selected mission functions and a better display of the tactical situation, and can be expanded to a complete WECDIS in accordance with NATO STANAG 4564 Ed. 3.
"Naval ECDIS NX completes our portfolio of all essential navigation systems for merchant and naval vessels," said Björn Schröder, Product Manager for WECDIS at Raytheon Anschütz. "Like all our applications, Naval ECDIS NX is future-proof, is subject to constant product maintenance and is continuously adapted to new standards. Thanks to our standardised system architecture and the modular structure of the hardware and software, we can easily and effectively adapt WECDIS to individual or changing requirements."
