Tamsen Maritim builds new multi-purpose boats

The Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 71 für Schiffe und Marinewaffen, Maritime Technologie und Forschung (WTD 71) in Eckernförde will receive two new STS boats from the Tamsen Maritim shipyard in Rostock. STS stands for the three main tasks of securing, transporting and towing. The workboats will replace the 744 class and will join WTD 71 with a time delay from the end of 2022.

The contract was awarded by the Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) following a Europe-wide tendering procedure.
