From a press release by Saab Deutschland GmbH
Saab Germany will open a new site for its Naval Systems product unit in autumn 2023 in the working environment currently under construction at SPURWERK in Bremen. The 1,680 m2 offer space for more than 100 employees.
A software development hub is being created at the new site in Bremen, with which Saab Germany is positioning itself for the future in line with its growth strategy. The Wilhelmshaven site with its project office will remain in place and will also be further expanded. Saab Deutschland is currently equipping the four Brandenburg-class frigates (F123) with the modern "9LV" command and weapon employment system (FüWES), among other things, which will be further developed from Bremen in co-operation with the Stockholm and Adelaide sites in the future. From here, Saab Deutschland will deepen and consolidate the trusting co-operation with the German Navy in accordance with the company motto "Technology in Partnership".
"Germany is Saab's largest market in Europe outside Sweden. We will continuously deepen our expertise in order to support the German Navy with the latest technology in this new era," says Anders Sjöberg, CEO of Saab Deutschland GmbH.
The 9LV from Saab is one of the most modern FüWES systems available on the market. In addition to scalability to different applications, the flexibility of the system enables the 9LV modules to be linked with systems and equipment from other suppliers with minimal risk. To date, Saab has equipped more than 250 warships worldwide with the system.
