Hamburg - Liner shipping company achieves higher profit

It was expected, and now Hapag-Lloyd is delivering its first results. According to preliminary figures from the end of January, the container shipping company's consolidated profit before interest and taxes increased from EUR 2.5 billion to EUR 2.6 billion in 2024 compared to 2023, and revenue also rose significantly. It climbed from 17.8 to 19.1 billion euros. A 5% increase in transport volumes and a stable average freight rate contributed significantly to this. What is striking is the fact that the 27-year-old merchant ship, which flies the flag of Antigua Barbuda, left St. Petersburg on 19 February 2025 at its usual speed of around 12.5 knots and gradually slowed down as it approached the island of Gotland. US Navy goes its own way to 6th generation fighter jet

It's all about the 6th generation fighter jet: while the US Air Force's NGAD (Next Generation Air Dominance) model has been put on hold due to skyrocketing costs and the focus is now shifting to cheaper drones, the US Navy is still sticking with its planned F/A-XX fighter jet. The Navy assumes that the contract for the new model will be awarded soon and expects it to enter service in the 2030s. This development comes as a surprise, as the US Senate wanted to cut 90 per cent of the development funds requested by the Navy for the F/A-XX in the middle of the year. It would now be possible for the Air Force...
