Zvezda shipyard - launch of LNG tanker series

The keel of the first large LNG tanker of a 15-ship series for the Russian state shipping company Sovkomflot has been laid at the Zvezda shipyard in Bolshoi Kamen in the Far East, after the first steel cut was made in November 2020. It is "the first ship of this size, loading and icebreaking capacity" to be built at a Russian shipyard, according to the keel-laying ceremony. The newbuildings are intended for transporting natural gas from the Arctic LNG 2 project on the Gydan Peninsula. MV Werften delivers - future open

The Stralsund shipyard of the pandemic-ridden MV Werften group has delivered the CRYSTAL ENDEAVOUR, the first of originally three expedition cruise ships, to Crystal Expedition Cruises from Los Angeles. The ship has a long construction period behind it, which not only reflects the development of MV Werften GmbH, but also of the German shipbuilding industry. This was taken over in 2015 by the Malaysian conglomerate Genting, which also owns the shipping company Crystal Cruises. After Genting also took over the three large shipyards in Wismar, Rostock and...

In the case of F 125, they also see a gap between the delivery of a product and...

There, where the names are emblazoned that you can read cast in brass on thousands of ships on all the world's oceans. It is a curiosity that is not just an interest in technology. It also triggers emotions, awakens memories and fuels the proverbial (Saint-Exupéry) longing for the sea. Or, as one shipbuilder told me...
