Together

The German naval battalion has been working closely with the Royal Dutch Corps Mariniers for many years. Both sides have benefited from this. German-Dutch naval cooperation has its roots in the early realisation of the growing "responsibility of European alliance members to jointly formulate their special interests [vis-à-vis the USA]" and to counter the "gap between rising defence costs and budgetary constraints" through military cooperation. How the navy helps people to help themselves

Differences and disputes are a major problem in everyday working life. This makes it all the more important to find a swift, amicable solution - with the help of conflict mediators. The location: the German Navy Emergency Response Training Centre, abbreviated to EAZS M. It is located in Neustadt in Holstein on the Baltic Sea. At the EAZS M, soldiers learn to fight fires on...

IAMD ranges from ASMD to T/BMD

National and alliance defence is once again becoming the focus of attention at NATO. The ability to fend off approaching missiles in an international network is central to this. The Maritime Theater Missile Defence Forum (MTMD Forum) was founded in 1999 on the initiative of the Netherlands, the USA and Germany. In 2004, Australia, the UK, Canada, Italy and Spain joined the forum and confirmed their commitment through a joint Memorandum of Understanding. France and Norway joined in 2009 and 2015, followed by Denmark in 2016. The latest and twelfth member since 2020 is Belgium. They all operate units that are part of the...
