Crew change in the South Atlantic
On 1 February 2021, Lufthansa is launching the longest passenger flight in its history. At the same time, it is one of the most unusual flights the airline has ever carried out. On behalf of the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Bremerhaven, the Lufthansa Group's most sustainable aircraft, an Airbus A350-900, will fly 13,700 kilometres non-stop from Hamburg to Mount Pleasant on the Falkland Islands.

Digital classroom for the Sea Lion
The digital Asterion classroom is used to train maintenance personnel for the new Naval Transport Helicopter (NTH) NH90 NTH Sea Lion. The system includes a soft panel cockpit with touchscreen instrument displays, a mission console trainer required for naval helicopter training, Asterion software, desktop hardware and tablets.

Rolls-Royce supplies mtu gas engines for world's first LNG tug with hybrid system
This is the world's first LNG hybrid tug powered by mtu gas engines. The LNG hybrid tug was designed by LMG Marin (Norway), part of the Sembcorp Marine Group, for the delivery of 65 tonnes of ABS-class bollard pull and is expected to be completed later in 2021. The tug's main propulsion system consists of two 16-cylinder mtu Series 4000 gas engines, which together will deliver a total power output of 2,984 kilowatts at 1,600 revolutions per minute (rpm).
